Listen closely to how the reporter calls this. She says the family saw 2 people trying to break into their car, “so they [the family] shot at them”. That the bad guys pointed a gun at the family isn’t mentioned until much later. Terrible reporting.

Nice commercial for insurance. Pretty clever. Shooting in a parking lot is a tricky thing. These guys could have killed the family and innocent bystanders . Why do Americans still have that Wild West mentality? You don´t see people in Berlin, Londo or Paris run around with guns.
Yes, the USA is like the old wild west. That’s why we have over 20x the shootings of any other civilized country. Every non-third world country has strict gun laws that work very well, but they don’t have the NRA bribing politicians to make sure they help them sell more guns. Look how many children have been shot in school shootings here, or have been killed because gun owners were too irresponsible to lock up their guns. Plus owners with no balls think they need semi-automatic weapons for what other reason? They are only good for killing many people in a few seconds.
