I’m Haïtian, it pains me to say this, he’s telling the truth. My people, not all but some, have a voodoo culture. When I lived in Haïti, I heard of people eating cats. When I heard about this prior to the debate, my first thought was “dang, those people are here now”.
Immigrants don’t leave their culture at the border.
This young man is NOT lying at all. No fabrications, no flights of fancy etc… it’s 100% factual. It IS the haitian culture when they’re practicing voodoo, hoodoo etc. which entails using animals (blood, bones, varied body parts etc –depending upon the specific religious rites & reason /purpose it’s performed, at that given time) during their religious rituals (I’m not saying every haitian does this -at all- many do, many don’t). I’ve known about this for at least 40+ yrs. They are not the only culture that does this either. There are many cultures throughout the world that also do this (unfortunately). I’m not here to agree or disagree, just stating it’s a FACT, no bs etc. at all. I’ve studied & learned about so many, numerous religions and their beliefs, practices etc. since I was a young teen to present date (have doctorates in religion/religious studies). So, I’m not “lying, making this up” etc., it’s 100% verifiable & factual. These cultures and their practices have been around (way before I was born lol) for at least few or more centuries (I’m sure it’s more than few centuries, unsure how many at moment of writing this). Again, not all haitians do this, some do & some don’t.
