That’s pretty close to what happened to me when I told my super lefty parents that I had become a christian when in college. My parents said they were going to disown me, that I was brainwashed and it was a phase. They would cringe at the name of Jesus and raised us to be atheist. Well, nearly 35 years later, I can say for sure, it wasn’t a phase. Hahahahaha
