I worked on a military base within the united states that dealt with food production for the soldiers. I saw unbelievable amounts of good food thrown out everyday. There’s no food crisis only greed!

Sounds nice but no one alive today will see vertical farming become mainstream in their lifetime. What about fruit trees? Cost of energy is too high to run the pumps and grow lights, let alone build these massive structures. And some foods just don’t taste as good when grown hydroponically. I think we’ll continue to see strawberries, salads and microgreens as the main crops for this type of farming for some time to come unless the world changes drastically. Surely, improving traditional farming methods would be more cost-effective or even better, encouraging people to grow more food at home
