A week after hurricane Helene hit our area we still have no water and don’t know when we’ll get it back, electricity is back in some places. We were very lucky and had no damage, unlike thousands of people who lost everything.
The PVC factory in Woodfin has had a massive chemical spill into the French Broad. The mud is to be considered highly toxic and caustic and has polluted the already leveled town of Marshall! The media is not covering the full extent of the damage and lives lost. Almost 100 lost souls have been recovered in Swananoa alone.
