I have carried a Colt Mustang for years. Not super heavy, very reliable and accurate. One thing you didn’t mention was how some people shy away from Single Action. The SA can be easier for some older people to use ref trigger pull, etc.

The #1 pick here looks pretty attractive especially for first-timers, those with arthritis issues, and just to use for plinking. The near lack of recoil is a BIG plus. Obviously the reduced firepower is a downside, yet as mentioned ammo manufacturers helped correct this to a degree. The ability to carry more rounds also helps compensate. Reviews I read mention jams after firing several rounds. That’s a concern. Hopefully Ruger addresses this quickly. LCP III Lite Rack .22LP???

  1. I agree with the fact that no one wants to be shot by anything, regardless of caliber. For a small gun I prefer .22LR revolver because they have less parts to go wrong than a semi auto. But a sawed off shotgun will make any attacker back down. They’ll pay one hell of a price if the don’t. Yes, the kick could knock an elderly person backward, but think what will happen to the antifa bastard on the receiving end. Why did I say antifa? Because they are know for gathering in gangs of 10 or more and attacking elderly people. They’ve even been known to attack elderly people in wheel chairs. A shotgun will level those wimps.
